The Renewables Global Business Unit (R-GBU) is supporting the Group to accelerate the development of renewables asset. We count 4,000 employees and more than 50 nationalities across 20 countries. With an installed capacity of 36 GW across 4 Operational Areas, the R-GBU manages a diversified portfolio of assets including Solar (4 GW), Wind (14 GW) and Hydro (18 GW). Our ambition is to multiply by 2.2 our installed capacity with 80 GW in 2030.

In the Global Industrial Platform at the R-GBU headquarters, the PMO Department focuses on the safe delivery of construction projects, on time, on budget and with the expected quality and reliability, in a context of strong acceleration of construction activities for the GBU. The department drives the standardization and industrialization of Project Management practice and tools across operational entities and monitors the performance of project execution to steer improvement action plans at GBU scale.

The PMO Department is looking for a Project Control Analyst to work directly with the Department Manager in following the portfolio of projects in execution, in driving improvement and automation actions on the global performance monitoring systems and in reporting to the Executive Team and the organization on the status and performance of the construction portfolio.

Responsibilities : Manage the construction portfolio monitoring systems and drive continuous improvement actions

The Project Control Analyst will take over the daily management of the construction portfolio monitoring systems in close collaboration with the PMO Department Manager. He/She will work on the continuous improvement of the systems to deepen performance insights, save time with task automation and expand the sharing of information with a close eye on access management in regard of confidential information.

  • Manage the project reporting information flow from the collection of source data (PMOs in the operating entities) to the delivery of consolidated portfolio information to the Executive Team, the Group performance systems, Finance, the Global Platform, etc.
  • Take over the organization of the timely report of project key data by the PMOs in each operating entity
  • Take over the monthly issue of the execution portfolio report to the Executive Team meeting
  • Design and drive improvements of the reporting system to decrease manual tasks and improve access to data
  • Work with the business data team of the R-GBU industrial platform to organize portfolio information sharing beyond monthly reports
  • Manage the project portfolio information space in coordination with the Project Portfolio Managers of each region (AMEA, Europe, Noram, Southam)
  • Monitor the key stage gates of each project as per the R-GBU project management process (handover from business development, construction readiness, commissioning readiness, handover to operation, project close out) and log the pass/fail status and supporting documents
  • Gather and share the key project documents (team book, project plans, schedule, contracts, monthly reports)
  • Manage global access as per the access governance
  • Develop the information space to gradually offer more insight on projects (overview of project progress and status as per latest monthly report, integration of standard cost breakdown, automated monitoring of portfolio compliance to process minimum requirements and stage-gates )
  • Support the PMO discipline leads in the performance analysis of project execution
  • Support the PMO discipline leads (project management, planning & schedule, cost estimating) in their analysis of the R-GBU performance in delivering projects on time, on budget and with the adequate level of contingency.
  • Leverage the consolidated execution data to guide and substantiate the portfolio performance review and the analysis of main deviations on time and cost and of contingency levels
  • Identify opportunities for improving the performance measurement framework and implement them in the monitoring systems
  • Support in the drafting of synthesis notes on diagnosis and recommendations for performance improvement
  • Experience and skills- One or two previous work experiences, ideally in the renewables industry - Compatible with the Group’s graduate program
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, orally and on paper
  • Fast and hands-on with information and data systems (SharePoint, Excel, VBA, PowerBI), autonomous and proactive in finding fixes and improvements
  • Fluent English mandatory, other languages of the R-GBU’s geographical footprint very much appreciated
