Position Summary

JOB PURPOSE

Design of mechanical parts and assemblies of pneumatic cylinders and systems that meet the set functional specifications.

JOB ACTIVITIES

  • Design
  • Developing and maintaining products and assemblies using 3D CAD system
  • In consultation with the Marketing and Engineering Supervisor department, discuss and analyze the customer specifications for feasibility and complexity
  • Optimizing existing designs
  • Analyzing and checking designs of colleagues and assessing manufacturability and principles of complexity reduction
  • Construction
  • Taking care of the design file, including drawing package, technical calculations and documentation, cross-sections and bills of materials
  • Preparation of assembly instructions and quality instructions for the assembled products
  • Defining review kits and maintenance instructions
  • Support
  • With the help of the Engineering Support colleague, the correct design of the ERP system is ensured
  • Supervising new developments and prototypes in production and assembly departments
  • Supporting questions and comments from quality, production and assembly departments
  • Management
  • Analyzing and optimizing assembly operations and procedures contributing to cost price optimization
  • Managing the product drawings and designs
  • Assessing change requests for feasibility and applicability in relation to associated or similar product variants
  • Coordination
  • Supervising and initiating (periodic) validation of products and (partial) designs in the test laboratory
  • Coordinating and validating prototype production and assemblies
  • Interpreting and monitoring test and measurement data
  • Maintaining and ensuring project planning and timely overshooting of time and budget overruns

SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Engineer diploma/ degree
  • Review and validate engineering designs using FMEA's, DVP&R Test Planning, tolerance analyses
  • Mechanical principles, such as dimensions
  • Applied operations and assembly techniques
  • Alternative machining techniques
  • Measurement techniques
  • Regulations, standards (including.ISO, DIN, NEN and ASME), requirements
  • Problem Solving techniques
  • Dimensional, shape and location tolerances and surface condition representation on drawing.
