What You’ll Work On

The Hydrometeorology Software Product Manager is responsible for capturing market requirements, defining and prioritizing product requirements, and packaging these features into product releases for our meteorology, hydrology, and aviation weather customers. This position involves close interaction with the product owner, our market leaders, and key customers to build the best products. A strong technical background and strong communication skills are required. Job duties include gathering requirements from customers and sales, managing the strategic vision for the product, building and maintaining the product roadmap, prioritizing the work to be done, and working with marketing communications to take product messages to market.

You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

  • Actively participate in Voice of Customer research to capture and validate key challenges in the market.
  • Create, maintain, and evolve a strategic vision for the hydrometeorology software product.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the hydrometeorology software product roadmap in close coordination with relevant meteorology, hydrology, and aviation weather market leaders.
  • Regularly communicate product roadmap strategy and status among cross-functional teams.
  • Work with the Product Owner to prioritize sprint development work.
  • Develop and monitor product and feature launch plans.
  • Manage product life cycle.
  • Manage and report on product and feature return maps.
  • Establish product and feature pricing in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct win/loss analysis.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape.
  • Write product requirements and use scenarios.
  • Develop positioning and other planning documents.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in atmospheric science or software engineering.
  • Master’s degree in product management or business administration, preferred.
  • 5+ years in product management with hydrometeorology software product management experience preferred.
  • 5+ years following agile software development methodologies using the scrum agile framework preferred.
  • Experience working in the meteorology, hydrology, and/or aviation weather industries preferred.
  • Use of qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and help make product decisions.
  • Understanding of, and implementation experience with, product management principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: writing, oral, team building, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage relationships, deliverables, and expectations cross-functionally.

Work Environment

General office environment. Domestic and international travel up to 20 - 25% on customer visits or trade shows.
